The UPV’s Summer School is mobilized to provide leisure activities for minors affected by DANA.
They are especially vulnerable victims because of their age. We are referring to the boys and girls who have suffered first-hand the destructive force of DANA, by residing in the most affected localities.
In response to the urgency of serving them as they require, the UPV Summer School has made its 250 monitors available to the affected municipalities, in order to travel to these municipalities and schedule leisure and free time activities. that help make everyday life more bearable. Both for minors and their families who, in this way, can focus on other tasks, if they wish.
At this time, a communication channel has already been established with the city councils, who are trying to enable spaces to host these activities. Benetússer and Chiva have already joined. The rest study how to do it because in many cases this task (enabling safe spaces) is proving to be very complicated for different reasons, mainly because in some cases they have suffered considerable damage.
Activities in La Rambleta
In parallel, l’Escola d’Estiu is already providing this service in collaboration with the DANA Kids association. In the cultural space La Rambleta de València, a school has been launched that, on its first day of activity, has served 18 boys and girls, through 11 people from the Escola d’Estiu.
