The Rector and part of his team held a meeting with the deans of the faculties, coordinators, and the president of the Student Council to address the implications of the DANA on academic organization and discuss the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of teaching and work activities.
During the meeting, a review was conducted of the current state of transportation infrastructure, which remains significantly affected across much of the metropolitan area and surrounding regions. This issue is particularly relevant due to its impact on the commutes of students, faculty, and staff across the various campuses.
In this context, the need to implement a hybrid model starting on November 25th was discussed. This model would combine in-person and online activities to reduce reliance on public transportation as much as possible. Additionally, the importance of prioritizing the gradual reactivation of essential practical sessions was emphasized, adapting to the specific circumstances of each faculty and degree program.
Another key topic addressed was evaluation. Adjustments were proposed to ensure assessments are carried out fairly and align with the learning objectives despite the current limitations. Furthermore, it was underscored that each faculty should evaluate its particular circumstances and provide the necessary feedback to effectively adapt these measures.
The meeting highlighted the UPV’s commitment to flexibility and collaboration among faculties to address this exceptional situation, always prioritizing the well-being and education of the entire university community.
