All campuses will be back on presential mode

Official Statement

Due to the advancement in the mobility conditions after the affectations suffered in the metropolitan area of Valencia, and with the public transport service restored to 80%, the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) informs that all its campuses will be back on presential mode from following Monday, 9 December 2024. This return will be carried out with the following considerations to ensure the welfare and accessibility of the entire university community:

Students

Return to the classroom: Students must return to face-to-face teaching on their campuses.
Online mode: The possibility of continuing in online mode will be maintained for those students who live in areas still affected or with severe mobility problems.
Guarantees of academic accessibility

The schools will guarantee that in any group where there is at least one person affected with sufficient reasons for not attending in person, the possibility of hybrid teaching and recording of classes will be available.
Dispensation processes and flexibility in assessment will be facilitated, adapting to each student affected’s circumstances.

UPV staff

Face-to-face: All staff must return to their jobs in presential mode, with the teleworking programmes approved before 29 October coming back into force.
Flexibility for exceptional cases: As long as the problems persist, staff who travel to the UPV are impossible or compromised and can continue teleworking. Likewise, those staff who, due to the closure of educational, socio-health or similar centres, have to take care of family members or cohabitants.

Sustainable and accessible mobility

We encourage everyone to prioritise travel on foot, by bicycle, or by scooter in line with sustainability principles and to avoid possible congestion at access points to the campus.

The UPV is grateful for the efforts of its entire community during this transition period. We reaffirm our commitment to support those still facing difficulties due to the recent circumstances. We kindly ask all those affected to contact their corresponding schools or services for further questions or requests.

Best regards,
